Artwork
All our prices are based on artwork being provided by the customer.
Acceptable formats include CorelDraw, Adobe PhotoShop, JPEG, TIFF, and
PDF. It is vital that files are saved in CMYK mode with the appropriate
'bleed' around the edges that need trimming (see 'Bleed' below). Mint
Print takes no liability for errors in printing due to RGB data or
incorrect bleed, although we do aim to double-check all artwork for
errors including grammatical mistakes, before going ahead to press.
Please contact us if you are unsure.
If you need assistance designing your artwork, one of our in-house
designers will be more than happy to assist you - please see below. Our
qualified and experienced designers are skilled at producing compelling
designs which will get your job noticed.
Customer Supplied Artwork
We want your printing to go as smoothly as possible so we've set the following guidelines to ensure that there will be no delays.
Adobe Illustrator
Outline all text and include all embedded images. Save as an eps file.
Adobe Photoshop
Resolution
must be set to 300dpi at actual size when starting your new document. Save
file as either an eps or tiff.
QuarkXPress
(v7 or earlier)
Please ensure
all fonts and pictures used in your Artwork are supplied to us in a
separate folder using the “Collect for Output” function under the
“File” menu drop down. Compress the document using stuffit or winzip
before uploading or sending your order via email. Compressing the document
reduces the file size and makes it easier to transfer.
Adobe In
Design
Please ensure
all fonts and pictures used in your Artwork are supplied to us in a
separate folder using the “Package” function under the “File” menu
drop down. Compress the document using stuffit or winzip before uploading
or sending your order via email. Compressing the document reduces the file
size and makes it easier to transfer.
PDF Files
It is
important that the PDF is supplied in the right way. We request that all
of our Artwork be supplied as high or press resolution (300dpi).
These are the options which must be set for printing purposes:
> Resolution (Press)
> Compression Settings (for colour and greyscale should be down sampled to
300dpi - with “auto impression” set on high)
> Font Embedding (should be set to “embed all fonts”)
Mint Print Created Artwork
The cost of designing a professional looking leaflet or flyer can be high. Generally
design costs for a A5 flyer would be in the region of £60, although some
designers charge on a per hour basis so the cost does vary. It’s highly
recommended to agree a set price at the start – per hour pricing simply
rewards inefficiency. Also, if your leaflet requires a number of images
this can increase the price as often these must be purchased.

What resolution do you recommend for pictures, logos, etc.?
As we are litho-printers, resolution quality is crucial for a perfect
finish. We recommend the minimum resolution to be at least 300 dpi
(preferably 600dpi). Resolution lower than this can still be printed,
but the higher the resolution, the better quality of print. Images such
as photographs can also be included.
Can I send you proofs or any other specimen for printing?
Of course you can. Thus we can match the colours of your product even
more precisely and meet your personal expectations.
Data Transmission
Artwork data files can usually be emailed to us on artwork@mint-print.com
but if your email server does not allow this, you can either upload it
onto our server, or post us the CD with the files. Please contact us for details.
Bleed
size
It is crucial that you design the artwork with the appropriate bleed
around the edges, for perfect trimming. Our designers will attempt to
touch this up on artwork that has been provided by customers free of
charge, but to speed things, please ensure that the bleed is as follows;
